WHO SERVED ABOARD THE USS CURRITUCK AV-7

Some of these photos are from my own
collection and some I found on the web.

CARL WALTER COLEMAN EM3

It's been said if a man has one person in this world who is a true friend then he is blessed.

Carl and I were best friends for over three years on the Currituck. He got discharged in August of 65 and I got discharged in September 65 and since we only lived about 60 miles from each other, we planned on getting together shortly after I got home. For one reason or another we didn't have the reunion quick enough as he was tragically killed in an accident shortly after getting home.

Navy Hymn

Eulogy for a Veteran

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the Gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die
